A long time

It seems to have been a long time since I updated this web site but I have been plagued with problems with my broadband connection.
There are several new pictures on the site courtesy of viewers.

Your Pictures

It was suggested in the forum that we use pictures sent to us for the display and I have received one which is now in the displayed list. If you see a snow scene this was donated to us. (Just click on Home until it appears)
Now the technical bit - Although we will accept any pictures, we would prefer then to be 182 X 137 pixels at 300dpi.
If this is gobbledygook to you, just send them anyway. Large pictures will be scaled to the right size and may be cut to allow then to be shown. Send to the webmaster
Legal bit - Please do not send pictures to which you do not own the copyright. Sending pictures to us implies you agree to us using them for the screen heading only.

More On The Updates

Apparently people have had difficulty finding local link information.
This has now moved from the side to the top of the page of local links.
Selecting the group you require will take you to the links.
Many apologies far any problems!

Site update

Hopefully this should be almost invisible to the users. It has been updated to improve performance of the site.
Included in this update is the new 'Clubs' space. This is available to any club/group that wishes to have information, newsletters or other information displayed. If demand is enough it may even be possible to allow the groups to add their own information. Contact the webmaster

Another one bites the dust

It is sad to see another shop go. Even the signs above the pottery has gone and it is likely to be turned into a private dwelling.

Kintbury Cinema

All right it is not really this. An attempt is being made to form a Film Club to show major films in the village. If you are interested, please attend the meeting at the Coronation hall on the 25th Feb at 8:00pm.

Church Street Fisheries

It will be sad to see yet another shop disappearing from Kintbury. Rose is leaving and the Fish Shop will be closing. When the Fruit and Veg shop closed, Rose took this over and asked Brione to help her with it. As Brione can no longer do this, this was stopped at Christmas and Rose is to follow at the end of March. We wish her well with her future ventures.

It's here at last!

The Parish Plan has been finalised and is available for viewing. See the "View Plan" in the index on the left!!

The end of the Chiltern Ambulance Stall

It is with regret that this stall has had to close due to circumstances beyond the control of Dawn and Doris who ran it.
They appreciated the support of all who gave it and will be sorely missed.

I Missed This One

Did you know the Queen's Award For Voluntary Services has been won by the Kintbury Volunteer Group?
There were only 10 in the South East of England!
We wish them all the best
